There are various breeds of Andorra’s national animal such as the Jersey, Hereford, shorthorn Holstein Friesian among many others. The color of cows also vary, with each breed having a distinctive color unique from others.The valleys in Andorra offer green grasslands for the animals to graze on so that farmers do not have to waste a lot of money on feed to keep the animals alive. Sheep and goats can be seen grazing in the spring and summer, while in the fall the cattle help to clean the excess grass off the land. The state has animal fairs where people will buy and sell their animals and the products the animals produce. This is one of the main ways that people make a living in Andorra. Most of the fairs are held in the fall after all of the land has been cleared and plowed by the animals.
